CCLC After School Program

21st Century Community Learning Center's After School and Summer Programs

The 21st CCLC After School and Summer Programs offer students a rich variety of academic support, math and homework tutoring, and academic enrichment.  The goal of both programs is to provide all students with academic encouragement and personalized support, as well as enrichment opportunities and life skills, without turning students away due to cost.

The After School Program offers specific help in math tutoring and test preparation, including standardized test (such as the ACT) prep classes.  General homework help is always from the staff and the program consistently provides materials for student projects and research needs.  The program also includes a daily activity run by the staff of highly qualified teachers.  These activities highlight exploration in digital technology, art, cooking and life skills, team recreation, and field trips.

The Summer Program differs from the After School Program in that it puts more emphasis on academic enrichment opportunities than it does on test preparation and schoolwork assistance.  The goal of the summer program is to provide students with a variety of educational experiences at no cost to the students or their families.  The Summer Program also aims to build skills in areas outside of solely acadmeic studies, to provide a safe and enriching community among students, and to provide a connection between education and the world outside.  The Summer Program heavily encourages team-building activities and provides field trips, outdoor recreation and healthy living, as well as activities that explore the arts, technology, and STEM interactions.

Enrollment to either the Summer Program or After School Program is entirely free for students and may be completed at any time.  Enrollment forms are always available in the main office or counseling center.  Any questions may be directed to either the Project Director, James Brennan, brennanj@bcschools.net or Site Coordinator, Chelsea Berg at bergc@bcschools.net.
